About Judy
Background
Hi, I'm Judy. I am passionate about providing therapy to individuals and families to help them work through life's challenges and feel confident and empowered in who they are. I specialize in work with individuals, children as young as 2, families, and groups. With over 12 years of experience as a social worker and therapist I pull from my knowledge and work in various social work and clinical settings. I have experience with helping individuals facing health crisis, homelessness, those recovering from trauma, stabilizing and supporting individuals in mental health crisis, and more. I have specific expertise working with children and adolescents managing school and peer stress, working through emotion regulation challenges, self-esteem struggles, family conflict and disruption, and processing trauma and traumatic grief.
Approach
My approach is person-centered, collaborative, playful, and encouraging. This means that the focus is on you and your ability to thrive within your own environment and not just on symptoms or diagnosis. Each individual is supported utilizing a theoretical approach that is relevant to their presenting concern, culturally mindful, individualized, and backed by research. Much of my theoretical frame is influenced by a humanistic and Jungian theories. I work from a belief that people possess within themself the capacity for healing and growth. As a social worker I believe in the importance of relationship and this comes paramount in our work together. After all, if there is not trust and safety, healing cannot begin.
Interests and Hobbies
In my free time I enjoy crafting, swimming, hiking in nature, and spending time with my husband and two young daughters. I have a special love for nature and the mountains. I find the outdoors to be a place I turn to in times of stress in my own life. You can find photos I've taken on my adventures and this theme on this website and throughout the in-person office in Haddonfield.
